Greetings from the Inland Empire of Southern California! I am Emil Tayag, a proud member of the UERMMMC Medical class of 1990. I am both a Neurologist and Neurosurgeon practicing in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties of Southern California. I am an academic Neurosurgeon training future Neurosurgeons in two Neurosurgery Residency Programs – Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Colton, CA and Riverside University Health Systems, Moreno Valley, CA.
Dr. Rommel Aquino of UERMMMC Medical Class of 1985 has invited me to write articles for our UERM AFUSA. Of course, I agreed not because of him but because his wife, Dr. Pauline Camu happens to be my medical school classmate.
This year, 2025, is our 35th Coral Anniversary. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend due to our Neurosurgery Residents’ graduation ceremonies coinciding with the Annual UERM Convention in Las Vegas NV. I was reminded of our local 3 day Batch 1990 reunion 1990 less than 10 years ago in Southern California. On Day 1, Dr. Manolito Fidel and his adorable wife, Gigi, hosted our reunion at his abode in Palos Verdes, CA. The event was well attended. Definitely, it was a night of fun, live music with DJ, food, drinking, singing, dancing, and good old camaraderie. Day 2 was a picnic and watching Chicago at Hollywood Bowl with fireworks. Day 3 was boodle fight lunch at Chef Pastor restaurant owned by Dra. Rosemarie Jose and husband Chef Pastor Ron Melchor at Torrance, CA.
